http://www.archive.org/about/faqs.php#221

"The progress of my upload says 'File metadata XML invalid. Waiting for user to correct.' How can I fix this?

This is typically caused by illegal symbols being used somewhere in the information that was put into one of the forms submitted with the show (either the import form or "File Options"). Double check that the only characters being used are those visible on a standard 104 key keyboard. More information and a few examples are here.

If you have trouble finding the cause, please post to the forum for help. An admin will have to resubmit the recording for another try, so please send an email including a link to the recording to etree AT archive DOT org if you believe you have cleared the issue."

but looking at your files .. I don't see an illegal character. hmm... maybe it just got corrupt. maybe another admin can shed some light..

I just logged in and took a look, but there are only 6 files there and no XML files. Did someone delete the XML files? That would certainly cause an issue with the system.

New link. http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details-db.php?id=34095

Looks like Kenny is still uploading the files, please hold off on filling out File Options until all the files have uploaded.

I actually deleted the previous parent file from my ftp because I thought maybe it might be corrupt...was this the right thing to do? I am currently uploading the file again with the correct characters etc. Hopefully it will work this time around. Thanks for all your help.

No - XML is independent of the audio files, so invalid XML has nothing to do with the FLAC/SHN files and reuploading them will not fix the issue. The problem is a bad XML file, detailed information about what they are can be read here.

When I reimported the item for you, it created one of the 2 XML files from scratch.

Edit: I'll try to put together an informative post about these errors with what I've learned. Keep an eye out for it in the next day or so.
